Marvelous Smart

“Builder of teams,
operations, and results.”

My experience spans store leadership, marketing, logistics entrepreneurship, and workforce solutions. That range gives me a practical view of how organizations grow: the numbers have to work, the people need direction, and the systems must support execution.

I have led teams of more than 90 employees and held P&L responsibility across $15 million to $40 million operations. My background also includes approximately a decade in the Army National Guard, including service as a commissioned officer.

I also serve as an advisory board member for the University of Minnesota College of Continuing and Professional Studies (CCAPS) ITI program, contributing my perspective on workforce needs, employer partnerships, and career pathways.

I bring that experience to organizations that need clear priorities, stronger coordination, and the discipline to follow through. Whether you are a growing business, nonprofit, or workforce organization, the aim is the same: help your people do their best work and make progress you can see.

Executive insights

Practical ideas.
Ready for the next team meeting.

Short working notes on common execution problems. Use the questions to start a useful conversation inside your organization.

01 / OPERATIONSWhen everything is urgent, start with ownership.

A growing task list can look like a capacity problem when the real issue is unclear ownership. Before adding another tool or meeting, choose one recurring task that frequently stalls.

  1. Name one person accountable for the result.
  2. Define the handoff, deadline, and meaning of “done.”
  3. Review the next three repetitions and note where the task stops.

Team question: Which decision keeps coming back because no one clearly owns it?

02 / LEADERSHIPMake the scorecard useful to the people doing the work.

A useful scorecard connects a business goal to a decision the team can make. More measures do not automatically produce better execution.

  1. Choose one outcome the team is responsible for.
  2. Identify the activity most closely connected to it.
  3. Assign an owner and a review rhythm.
  4. Agree what action follows when progress falls behind.

Team question: What would we do differently this week because of this number?

03 / WORKFORCEBuild employer partnerships around the next useful action.

A contact becomes a partnership through consistent, useful follow-through. Connect the employer's hiring need to a specific action your team can deliver.

  1. Confirm the roles, requirements, and hiring timeline.
  2. Agree how candidates will be prepared and introduced.
  3. Set a follow-up date and a relationship owner.
  4. Capture feedback and use it to improve the next introduction.

Team question: What is the next agreed action for each priority employer?

Before we work together

Clear expectations.
From the beginning.

A few practical answers about getting started, defining the work, and understanding the next step.

What is included in the free first 10 minutes?

A brief introductory conversation about your organization, your challenge, and whether the support is a fit. Additional time is paid, with the fee confirmed before you book.

How do I start while online booking is being connected?

Send a project inquiry and choose “Introductory Conversation.” Include your preferred times and time zone. Your request will be stored for review; sending it does not reserve an appointment.

What will a consulting engagement cost?

Fees depend on the agreed scope, deliverables, timing, and level of support. The Operating Clarity Diagnostic is a paid first engagement with a custom quote. You review and accept the proposal before work begins.

What happens after I send an inquiry?

You receive an on-screen confirmation and reference number. Marvelous reviews your needs and timing, then the next step is a fit conversation or a request for clarification. If the work is a fit, you receive a proposed scope and fee for review. An inquiry is not a signed agreement, payment, or confirmed appointment.

What does the team receive at the end?

Deliverables are agreed in advance. Depending on the scope, they may include a process review, operating plan, role definitions, workflow documentation, KPI scorecard, or implementation handoff.

Can you collaborate with our staff or other advisors?

Yes. Engagements can be structured around your leadership team and existing advisors, with clear roles and responsibilities agreed at the start.
